Disable Windows Logo Testing Warning

We’ve talked about how to fix the “has not passed Windows Logo testing” error, however, this article outlines a quick and simple method to disable the “…has not passed Windows Logo testing” message altogether. It was a troublesome error for Windows XP users and rolled over to Windows 8 in the form of driver signing.

“The software you are installing for this hardware: “hardware name” has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows (insert Version Here)”

In all fairness, it is a built-in safety feature that prevents the average computer user from installing possibly unsafe drivers. However, it sometimes pops up for non-harmful drivers. For example, the usb mass storage device has not passed Windows logo testing is one of the most common issues. To fix it, simply disable Windows Logo testing or Driver Signing.

  • Right-click “My Computer”
  • Click “Properties”
  • Click the “Hardware” tab, then click “Driver Signing” under Drivers.
  • Click “Ignore – Install the software anyway and don’t ask for my approval.”

That’s it. You should no longer be annoyed by the error message. For a more in-depth tutorial with images, read here.
