Riven
Yasuo can’t stab Riven without risking a full combo and death. His projectile is easily dodged. Sweeping Blade’s internal cooldown is long enough that he cannot outplay Broken Wings. He can use Wind Wall to block Wind Slash and still die.

How To Play A Yasuo Counter
- Yasuo’s shield from Resolve lasts only 2 seconds. Dealing damage to him triggers it. Wait it out, then engage.
- Yasuo is at his weakest just after he has launched a whirlwind. Engage at that point.
- Fighting Yasuo away from minions and neutral monsters limits his mobility. His skirmish potential is very good as well because of this, so be careful when initiating 2v2 and 3v3’s.
- Focus Yasuo in team fights since he is easily able to have 100% crit chance.
- Remember that Yasuo ignores 50% of bonus armor after he lands an ultimate. So, buying high-armor items like Frozen Heart is less effective than buying health and armor items such as Randuin’s Omen or Sunfire Cape.
- Also, Yasuo has surprising dueling potential level 1 in the mid lane vs melee mage or assassins. Keep that in mind when going up to CS as his Steel Tempest will cut you in half level 1-3.
- Yasuo is like Master Yi, using Crowd Control is the best to keep his mobility down and burst him.
- Steel Tempest is very narrow. Dodge laterally if possible.
- When Yasuo lands two Steel Tempests in a row, his next will fire a tornado. Watch and listen for the associated sound to prepare to dodge.
