When you first set up your HomePod, it automatically connects to the WiFi network that your iPhone or iPad uses. However, for those of us that travel with our HomePod or change WiFi networks often, there is an easy way to update the WiFi settings on your HomePod.
How To Change WiFi On HomePod
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Home app.
- Tap and hold or 3D Touch the HomePod icon to choose the HomePod you’re having issues with.
- At the top, a message appears that reads “This HomePod is on a different Wi-Fi network
than this iPhone. Move HomePod to ‘(Wi-Fi name)’”. - Give it a few seconds and your HomePod automatically connects to the new Wi-Fi network.
Please note that the above method works to sort out issues with WiFi connectivity on your HomePod. Unfortunately, the only other way to change your HomePod’s WiFi is by factory resetting the device.
To troubleshoot internet connectivity on your HomePod, ensure that your modem and router are working.
A quick test is to ask Siri to play music. If it takes a while or if Siri says that it can’t connect to the internet, check your WiFi connection.
