The other day I accidentally turned on Windows’ Voice Narrator. I’m using Microsoft Windows 10 and each time I typed or placed my mouse over an item, I heard a voice over narrating each step.
It took a bit of figuring out. However, I was able to turn off the voice narrator with these simple tips.
How To Turn Off Windows Voice Narrator
- Tap or click “Start” > “Settings” (gear icon).
- Open “Ease of Access“.
- Choose “Narrator”.
- Toggle “Narrator” to “Off”.
- Also toggle “Start Narrator automatically” to “Off” if you don’t want the voice at startup.
Alternatively, to disable Narrator on Windows 10, you can hold the “Caps Lock” key and press “Esc” or hold the Windows Key and press “Enter”.
