Apple revealed a brand new MacBook Air alongside a new Mac Mini at their live event in New York. The new MacBook Air features a Retina Display as well as Touch ID, USB-C and more.
New MacBook Air Features
With 4 million display pixels, the New MacBook Air gets rid of the classic silver bezels found on earlier MacBook Airs. The new MacBook Air features black bezels with a display that extends further toward the edges. Apple claims the new “Air” has 50% less smaller bezels.
It also features Appleās T2 security chip. It’s an added security feature that ensures that software loaded boot has not been tampered with. The new MacBook Air also sports an HD FaceTime camera.
There are two USB-C ports and a headphone jack. Furthermore, the new MacBook Air supports Touch ID. Apple integrated the Touch ID into the keyboard. And, speaking of keyboards, it’s the same keyboard as the 2018 MacBook Air. The new MacBook Air also supports “Hey Siri” as well as the Force Touch trackpad.
The MacBook Air sports stereo speakers said to be 25% louder with noticeably more base. It also has a 3-mic array to work with features such as Hey Siri.
On the inside of the new MacBook Air, there’s an 8th-gen Intel Core i5 processor with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1.5TB of SSD storage. As for battery life, Apple boasts that this MacBook Air is capable of up to 12 hours of web browsing and 13 hours of iTunes movie playback.
The new MacBook Air is lighter, smaller and more compact than the previous MacBook Air which increases its portability. And, just like the updated Mac Mini, the new MacBook Air features a design made from 100 percent recycled aluminum.
New MacBook Air Price
The price for the standard 8GB of RAM, a 1.6GHz Core i5 processor, and 128GB SSD MacBook Air sits at $1199. Of course, there are other upgrade options available at a higher cost.
