How To Cancel YouTube TV

YouTube TV is live streaming add-on service much like ShowTime Anytime, Fox Sports Go, Starz, Hulu, and Netflix (to name a few). If you signed up for YouTube TV and want to or can’t cancel your YouTube TV membership, here are 3 easy ways to cancel YouTube TV membership.

How To Cancel YouTube TV On Computer

There are 3 different ways that you can use to stop your YouTube TV subscription on a computer. Some ways are easier than others. However, each method effectively does the same thing:

Cancel With One Click Link

  • From your browser, go to https://tv.youtube.com/cancel
  • Follow the instructions to cancel your membership.

For the above method to work. You must be signed in with the Google account that has a subscription to the service.

To cancel your free trial of YouTube TV, you must follow the same steps as you would if you were a full-time subscriber (see above for details).

How To Cancel YouTube TV On iPhone

According to Google & Apple, these are the best ways to go about terminating your subscription to YouTube TV either via a web browser or via iTunes (if the latter is where you originally signed up for the service).

Cancel With One Click

  • From your iPhone’s browser, go to https://tv.youtube.com/cancel
  • Follow the instructions to cancel your membership.

For the above method to work. You must be signed in with the Google account that has a subscription to the service.

Cancel Via Settings

Via iTunes

  • Go to Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.
  • Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen, then tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in with your Apple ID.
  • Scroll till you see Subscriptions and tap it.
  • Tap the subscription that you want to manage (YouTube TV).
  • Use the options to manage your subscription. You can choose a different subscription offering, or tap Cancel Subscription to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

How To Cancel YouTube TV Subscription On Apple TV

  • Open Settings.
  • Select Accounts.
  • Under Subscriptions, select Manage Subscriptions.
  • Tap the subscription that you want to manage (YouTube TV).
  • Use the options to manage your subscription. You can choose a different subscription offering, or tap Cancel Subscription to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

What Happens When You Cancel YouTube TV Subscription

When you cancel YouTube TV, you will still have access to it until the end of your payment period. After that date:

  • You will no longer be able to access add-on networks. You can’t add any add-on networks without a membership.
  • All recorded programs in your library will expire after 21 days. However, we’ll save your library preferences (e.g., shows, sports teams, and events that you’ve added) in case you want to re-sign up at a later date.
  • If you choose to restart your YouTube TV membership at a later date, you may not be eligible for promotional prices and may not have access to previously recorded programs.
  • Google may store limited information (such as your home zip code) for billing and fraud prevention purposes.

What To Do If You Cannot Cancel YouTube TV Membership

If for some reason you can’t seem to cancel your YouTube TV subscription, then you can reach out to Google for further assistance. You can also reach out if you want to get a refund.

How To Pause YouTube TV Membership

What Happens When You Pause YouTube TV Subscription

  • When you pause your membership, you can choose the length of this paused state, from 4 weeks up to 6 months.
  • Your membership will be paused after the end of your current billing cycle.
  • While your membership is paused, you (and any family members) won’t have access to YouTube TV and no new programs will be recorded. However, your previous recordings will be saved until the end of the paused state (although recordings are still subject to our standard 9-month expiration date).
  • When your paused state ends, you will automatically be charged at your normal monthly price for a new month of service, and that date becomes your new billing date.
  • You can un-pause and resume your membership at any time before the scheduled resume date by visiting YouTube TV on a web browser or using the YouTube TV app. The date that you resume your membership will become your new billing date.
