A while ago on Twitter, Google announced a new feature called the ‘.new‘ link shortcut. Essentially, you can go to ‘docs.new’ or ‘slide.new’, and it takes you immediately to a new blank document.
The new feature works with all document types. These include Sheets, Docs, Slides, Sites, and Forms. And, we all make mistakes with URLs. However, Google was one step ahead. Hence, if you go to sheet.new’, ‘sheets.new’ or ‘spreadsheet.new’, it opens a blank sheet regardless.
The new shortcuts are a welcome change. So, if you normally work with Google Docs and need to create new documents on the fly, don’t forget to try the new “quick links” out.
