Google added a search key to the Chromebook to help users easily search Google’s data. However, there’s an option to reconfigure the search key on the keyboard.
This is to say that you can map the search key to another function. As a matter of fact, you can do so for any key. Here’s a quick way to go about doing it.
Reconfigure Search Key On Chromebook
- Firstly, go to settings.
- Then, scroll to the subheading ‘Device’ and then go to Keyboard.
- Under Keyboard, use the drop-down menus to reconfigure the Search key, as well as the Ctrl, Alt, Escape and Backspace keys.
For example, you can set the search key to be the Caps Lock key. You can read more about Chromebook keys & functions here.
