How To Mute Browser Tabs
- Firstly, open Chrome.
- Then, type chrome://flags in the address bar.
- Hit enter.
- In the interface that pops up, use the search feature and type Tab audio muting UI control. Or just type mute.
- Then, click the drop-down box or toggle near the feature to enable it.
- Lastly, click Restart or Relaunch to apply the changes.
A quicker way to access the feature is through this quick link chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting. However, the name may change. Hence, using the previous method is best.
Now, whenever you want to mute a tab that has audio, simply click the little speaker icon on that tab. Alternatively, you can right-click the tab and choose mute site or mute tab from the menu.
