You can lock your Notes on your iPhone and iPad with a password. However, you can open password protected Notes with Touch ID or your password. Here’s how it works/
How To Lock Note With Password
- Firstly, open the Notes app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Create a new Note or open an old Note.
- Add information to the Note.
- Then, tap the Share icon.
- In the menu, choose
Lock Note . - A prompt pops up.
- Set your password.
- Choose a password hint.
- Choose if to allow Touch ID unlock.
- Once done, tap the lock icon to lock the note.
Likewise, you can:
- Slide any note to the left.
- Tap the lock icon.
- Then, setup a password & hint to lock the note (if not already done).
That’s it! Please note that the password you set to lock notes is not the same ass your iOS device‘s password. Also, the first line of notes always appears in the app. Furthermore, when in the Notes app, a lock icon appears next to password protected notes.
How To Unlock A Note
- To unlock a note, tap the note.
- Then, choose View Note.
- Then, choose whether to unlock with your password or Touch ID.
Likewise, you can:
- Slide the note to the left.
- Then, tap the unlock icon.
- Enter the password to unlock.
Lastly, the password hint only pops up after you enter the password incorrectly three times. That’s it!
