The HTC One A9 is a smartphone with a 5 inches FullHD screen, 64-bit processor and one of the first phones to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This article provides an overview of the features and specs the One A9 as well as an HTC One A9 review.
Display
With a size of 5 inches and 1080p FullHD resolution, the HTC One A9 hits the ground running, at least, as far mid-range devices go. What you have is a device with a pixel density of 440 dots per inch and a AMOLED display that reproduces 40% more colors than a standard LCD display. Furthermore, the One A9 screen is covered by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 resistant glass. So, if you hands are slippery, this device can take a hit to the face (not that you should go around purposely dropping your device).
Design
The design is one of the strengths of this model. HTC gets out of the usual line in the HTC One range and committed to a totally flat chassis made of aluminum, with a regular thickness of 7.26 mm. The rounded corners fairly reminiscent of the iPhone 6 and the device also carries a physical home button on the front with a fingerprint sensor integrated. It is available in dark gray, silver, gold and maroon.
Camera
The main camera of the HTC One A9 has a sensor of 13 megapixels mounted under an aperture f/2.0 lens and covered in sapphire crystal to prevent scratching. Next to it is a double LED flash and it also includes an optical stabilization system to minimize shaking when recording videos. It allows recording in HD resolution and has an option called Hyperlapse which accelerates videos for a time-lapse effect. The photos can be taken in automatic mode or professional mode, where you can adjust parameters such as focus, the aperture or shoot pictures in RAW format.
HTC One A9It is also very fast, HTC claims it can save a picture in 0.1 seconds. As for the front camera, it relies on an Ultrapixel system (4 megapixels), this camera also records videos in full HD and has aperture f/2.0 lens.
HTC One A9Multimedia
The HTC One A9 is Dolby Audio certified and it supports high-res audio up to 24-bits. It also includes an amplifier for headphones and a distortion minimization system.
Power
Like most smartphones in this range, the HTC One A9 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, with 64-bit support and octa-core functionalities. The device also incorporates an Adreno 405 GPU and has a maximum of 2GB of RAM.
Storage
The HTC One A9 sells in a single edition with 16 Gb storage, but this can be extended using MicroSD cards of 2 TB maximum. Yes, you read that right… the HTC One A9 is capable of processing an SD Card of up to 200 gigabytes.
HTC One A9Operating System
The HTC One A9 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow which features HTC Sense. The latest version of Google’s mobile operating system brings new features like Google Now on Tap, individual applications permissions, new power saving features and Android Pay. This release provides native support for fingerprint sensors, which as we have said is integrated in the Home button of the HTC One A9.
HTC One A9Connectivity
The HTC One A9 comes with the usual connections to access the Internet, uses location services and transfer files via USB. Integrates an LTE chip, dual band WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1 , GPS antenna with Glonass, MicroUSB connector and mini-jack for speakers.
Battery
The HTC One A9 battery has a capacity of 2,150 milliamps and includes Quick Charge 2.0 which can be updated to 3.0 for even faster charging. HTC claims it can reach full charge in 75% less time and can go 18 days without having to plug in to a power source. It also plays video for 12 hours and offers 9 hours of surfing the Internet.

Review
The HTC One A9 is a smartphone that sits between the middle and upper ranges. The design is one of the highlights. The premium materials remain, but the chassis is much thinner, without curves at the rear. The cameras include interesting features, but they do not record 4K video. The sound is good, the fingerprint scanner and especially the integration of Android 6.0 Marshmallow are other strengths of this phone. If you need more options, you can always check out the HTC One M8 or our other HTC Smartphones.
