COBALT FLUTTERFLY (Rarity 2)

Found anywhere an Omenfly is but only when it is raining, they are technically bluer but it is hard to tell I suggest just catching them all when it is raining
SCALEBAT (Rarity 2)
A little bat-like creature at the entrance to any cave, you have to be quick if you want to catch them as they fly away pretty quick, however, if you have the Ghillie Mantle on you can catch them hanging from the cave roof before they fly off.
VIGORWASP (Rarity 2)
These are the bright green guys you hit for health, you can catch them as well.

It spawns in the high rank map in the same section as the Wohigh-rankeryx but has different coloration.
HERCUDROME (Rarity 2)
Found in a couple of places. The most common is in Section 11. Leave camp 11 down the ramp, head straight across to a ramp that goes down into a pool of water. The Hercudrome is on the wall.
PRISM HERCUDROME (Rarity 4)
Found in section 1, if you leave the campsite follow the right edge of the map, you’ll find an area that has several flower beds, the Prism Hercudrime is on a tree there.
GOLD HERCUDROME (Rarity 2)
In the Forest, starting from the Northeast camp, head up the path to Area 6, the same one the Phantom Fluttershy spawns in. Once in Area 6, turn around and face back down the path towards the Northeast Camp.
You should see a root you can walk up to your right. Go up the root and turn around again so you’re facing Area 6. There should be two Thunderbugs right in front of you.
Stand on top of them and once again turn around to face towards the Northeast Camp. Above you near the top of a swingable vine should be the Gold Hercudrome.
Unclassified Life
DOWNY CRAKE (Rarity 4)
Little birds perched on the herbivores in Section 1, you need binoculars and Ghillie Mantle to catch these guys, the binoculars to scout if they are there from a distance and the Ghillie Mantle to approach without them fleeing.

IRON HELMCRAB (Rarity 2)
Found near the Gajau in Section 10, best to leave camp 11 through the water (the ones you auto swim through) then head up the hill to the right.
The Iron Helmcrabs can be found on the islands in the water with the Gajau. Often times a Jyuratodus is around this area so prepare accordingly.
EMERALD HELMCRAB (Rarity 4)
Found in the same location as described for the Iron Helmcrab in Section 10. However, these guys tend to be on the land to the far right of the water, near the bonpiles and they only spawn if it is raining on the map.
CACTUAR (Rarity)
A mysterious creature from Eorzea that looks like a cactus but is not. Releases 1000 needles when struck. Find it when the Barroth is present.
Aquatic Life
CLIMBING JOYPERCH (Rarity 2)
This salamander is the easiest to catch right outside of camp 11, also Section 11 in the water next to the bonepile, however, he is also found sunbathing on a rock in Section 1 near the large fishing pole.
If you go after him here though you pretty much need the Ghillie Mantle. Furthermore, if you want to fish here I recommend catching him first because if you don’t he jumps into the water and scares all the fish away. Catch it with the capture net.
PINK PAREXUS (Rarity 2)
These fish are everywhere and are easily caught in the pond of Section 1.
BOMB AROWANA (Rarity 2)
Found on most maps but only in certain places. Here they spawn in the pond area in Section 1.

Airborne Life
OMENFLY (Rarity 2)
Found on all maps.

A little bat-like creature at the entrance to any cave, you have to be quick if you want to catch them as they fly away pretty quick, however, if you have the Ghillie Mantle on you can catch them hanging from the cave roof before they fly off
VIGORWASP (Rarity 2)
These are the bright green guys you hit for health.
FLASHFLY (Rarity 2)
The bright yellow bugs you strike to stun monsters.
Treetop Life
PRISM HERCUDROME (Rarity 4)
Found in section 10, if you leave from camp 11 go through the water like you are going to catch the Iron Helmcrabs there are rock platforms you can climb up onto and you will see it on a tree. Usually at dusk or dawn.
GOLD HERCUDROME (Rarity 2)
In the Waste, start at the Southwest Camp. Head along the path up to the Area 5 on the top layer of the map. You should remember this path from the story quest where you escort that cart out to the Zora Magdaros turd.
Once you get to the top of the path and start heading downward towards Area 2, look at the trees on your left. You should see the Gold Hercudrome sitting on a tree. If you walk past some honey, you’ve gone too far.(credit /u/Solaxus)
Unclassified Life
DOWNY CRAKE (Rarity 4)
Little birds perched on the herbivores in Section 1, you need binoculars and Ghillie Mantle to catch them. Use the binoculars to scout if they are there from a distance and the Ghillie Mantle to approach without them fleeing.
Coral Highlands
Terrestrial Life
PARATOAD (Rarity 2)
Find it in Section 13 all the way up where the Legiana makes its nest.
SLEEPTOAD (Rarity 3)
Blue toads that can be found a couple of places but easier to catch in Section 5 near all of the wingdrakes. A Paoluma is here sometimes but as long as you don’t get too close it isn’t immediately hostile.
WIGGLER (Rarity 3)
The little blue worms can be found in several places. A huge cluster is found Section 1/2 (drop down from camp 1 and head down the path to the right).
These guys are actually not bad to catch you just have to crouch down and approach slowly to net them. If you plan it right you can easily catch three at a time.
WIGGLER QUEEN (Rarity 4)
This Wiggler is easy to spot as she is bright orange. However, she only appears at night. I have only caught one in the small cluster in Section 1 (drop from camp 1 and go to the left).
Aquatic Life
PINK PAREXUS (Rarity 2)
Section 11 in the pond near the large waterfall.
BOMB AROWANA (Rarity 2)
Look in Section 5 in the water, same as the area with the Gunpowderfish.
BURST AROWANA (Rarity 2)
Section 11 in the pond near the large waterfall, they are the ones that look sort of like large green betta fish, great size spawns here at times.
ANDANGLER (Rarity 3)
In a lot of places but easiest to grab in Section 11, they are not in water to catch but rather hopping around on land. They look sort of like an anglerfish in real life with the glowy appendage and must be caught with the capture net.
HOPGUPPY (Rarity 2)
In the extremely shallow water in section 1 or in Section 11 near the Grimalkynes entrance.
WHETFISH (Rarity 2)
Section 11 in the pond near the large waterfall, they are the ones with glowing blue eyes, great size spawns here at times.
GOLDENFISH (Rarity 3)
Climb up Section 13 (towards the Paratoad location and the Legiana’s nest). Yyou will see a small opening to drop into. This leads to a cave that has a circular stone column, covered in climbing vines, that leads down to a reedy pond.
Be careful not to drop in the water as it will scare the fish and they take a while to respawn if startled. You can catch 3 goldenfish here or 2 and a Goldenfry.
And, if you wait around a bit they will respawn and occasionally the great version spawns here. Baitbugs (also found in this cave area) or goldenfish bait to is also great for catching these fish (great size scales sell for 10000 instead of 1000).
You can also enter the area from Section 13, there is a large climbable vine area that has a small opening that leads to this cave.
GOLDENFRY (Rarity 2)
Same spot as the Goldenfish and very common to catch a great size here (great size scales sell for 5000 instead of 500).
SUSHIFISH (Rarity 2)
Section 11 in the pond near the large waterfall, the big reddish looking fish. Great size spawns here at times.
GUNPOWDERFISH (Rarity 3)
In a small watery area in Section 7, they have glowing orange eyes, careful not to drop into the water here, you can actually fish off of the ledge above the water.
Airborne Life
OMENFLY (Rarity 2)
Found literally anywhere and is on all maps.
AUGERFLY (Rarity 4)
Found anywhere an Omenfly is but only when it is raining, they are technically bluer but it is hard to tell I suggest just catching them all when it is raining.
VIGORWASP (Rarity 2)
These are the bright green animals you hit for health.
ELEGANT CORALBIRD (Rarity 3)
Found in Section 1 (and all over the map really) you can walk right up to these guys and easily net all three in a cluster (they look like pink hummingbirds) all other clusters fly off when you catch one but they come back fairly quickly. Also, note that if you are catching them too close to the Wigglers it will cause the Wigglers to hide as well.
DAPPER CORLBIRD (Rarity 4)
A slightly larger and different colored variation of the Elegant Coralbird. The best way to notice this bird is the clusters which normally have 3 birds will have 4.
Don’t be greedy when you try to catch him, take your time and aim for only it because if you miss the birds fly away like normal but the Dapper bird usually won’t come back with the others.
FLYING MEDUSO (Rarity 3)
The pretty little flying jellyfish you see everywhere. They are easiest to catch near the wingdrakes in Section 5, but there are a few other places they come close enough to catch.
FLASHFLY (Rarity 2)
The bright yellow bugs you strike to stun monsters.
GRANDFATHER MANTAGRELL (Rarity 3)
The flying bug in the sky. They can be caught out of the sky but the best way to do it is to load your slinger with rocks, it only takes one rock to knock them down and you can catch them quite easily.
I recommend catching them in Section 11 where the Grimalkynes make their home, as they come very close to land and drop right in front of you.
Treetop Life
PRISM HERCUDROME (Rarity 4)
Area unknown. However, according to the ecological guide, it spawns in the area.
Unclassified Life
None at the moment.
Rotten Vale
Terrestrial Life
GLOOM GECKO (Rarity 3)
These animals are all over but they do blend in a bit because of they’re darker colors. Find them pretty easily by climbing down from camp 11, there are quite a few of them on the wall at the bottom of the first drop.
MOONLIGHT GECKO (Rarity 4)
It has to be night and this animal only shows up next to brightmoss + Gekko. It is always right above the brightmoss and it is fairly large and bright so you won’t miss it.
Although my advice is don’t sweat it too much if you don’t see him here there is a much simpler place to catch him in the Elder Recess.
REVOLTURE (Rarity 2)
Found all over, if you want to easily catch one just kill any monster and they will spawn, usually on the upper levels of the Vale.
SCAVANTULA (Rarity 3)
Found in Section 4 near bonepiles, they’re pretty nondescript brown/black spiders in groups. They can be a bit hard to see due to the colors of the Vale. Mostly always found near bones.
PARATOAD (Rarity 2)
In Section 10 near the big hole with the giant bones coming up out of them.
CARRIER ANT (Rarity 2)
Located in Section 15, around the waterline in the Grimalkyne’s cave.
TYRANT HOPPER (Rarity 4): In Section 5, drop down from camp 1 head to the left, enter the little hole you have to crawl through to get to an area where there are often Grimalkynes waiting, the Tyrant Hoppers will be on the ground leading up to the ancient fossil.
SOLDIER HELMCRAB (Rarity 3)
In Section 9, if you leave from camp 11 you’ll find one just as you enter the section before hitting the Girros. Although these are pretty much everywhere in the lower part of the Vale.
EMERALD HELMCRAB (Rarity 4): I haven’t actually caught one here, they are a pretty rare spawn as they only spawn when it is raining and (if you’re in the lower part) it is hard to tell if it is raining. I would assume they can be found in most of the places the other Helmcrabs are, will update if I find a specific location.
Aquatic Life
PINK PAREXUS (Rarity 2)
In either Section 9 or 10, both fishing spots spawn them. However, they have lower spawn rate here than other maps. Section 10 is right when you drop down from camp 11.
BOMB AROWANA (Rarity 2)
In either Section 9 or 10, more abundant in 9. Just past the first group of Girros in Section 9 on the left. Monsters won’t enter this small fishing area so it is a good place to hide from big monsters if you need to.
BURST AROWANA (Rarity 2)
In either Section 9 or 10, more in Section 10 than 9.
WHETFISH (Rarity 2)
In either Section 9 or 10, about equal amounts in both sections.
GASTRONOME TUNA (Rarity 2)
Section 10 is the only place I’ve seen this so far, it seems to be a very rare spawn in the Vale.
PETRICANTHS (Rarity 4)
Find it in Section 15. It is usually in the water behind the Grimalkynes (it is kind of hard to fish there because your vision is obscured a bit just use baitbugs).
GOLDENFRY (Rarity 2)
Two of these spawn consistently in Section 15 as well.
GOLDENFISH (Rarity 3)
Also in Section 15. This is definitely the best place to farm for this fish’s scales. There are usually 4 in the first pond or 2 and one great size and 3 in the pond behind the Grimalkynes.
SUSHIFISH (Rarity 2)
In either Section 9 or 10, about equal amounts in both sections.
GUNPOWDERFISH (Rarity 3)
Only in Section 9. There are quite a few of them so it is a good place to farm for them. If you take Gunpowderfish bait it takes roughly 10 seconds to catch all three.
Airborne Life
OMENFLY (Rarity 2)
Found on all maps.
AUGERFLY (Rarity 4)
Found anywhere an Omenfly is but only when it is raining, they are technically bluer but it is hard to tell I suggest just catching them all when it is raining. Usually in Section 10 when you drop down from camp 11.
SCALEBAT (Rarity 2)
A little bat-like creature at the entrance to any cave, you have to be quick if you want to catch them as they fly away pretty quick, however, if you have the Ghillie Mantle on you can catch them hanging from the cave roof before they fly off
FLASHFLY (Rarity 2)
The bright yellow bugs you strike to stun monsters.
Treetop Life
PRISM HERCUDROME (Rarity 4)
Unknown.
Unclassified Life
BRISTLY CRAKE (Rarity 4)
Little black birds with orange eyes perched on the back of Mosswine in Section 15, in the cave where the Grimalkynes can be found. It is up near the slope where you find the mining outcrops and mushrooms.
To catch the Bristly Crake it is best to have the Ghillie Mantle on and put it on before entering the area as the Crake will clear out very quickly.
