It’s dark, you need a flashlight, you have your Droid Turbo, but you don’t see a way to turn on the flashlight! You’re left in the dark to wonder alone wondering if you’ll ever make it home. It’s a sad situation. One that you can avoid. So, “How do I turn on my flashlight?” Ah, the elephant in the room! It’s really quite easy. You can turn it on using a motion gesture or from the menus. Here’s how to do this:
Use Moto Action To Open Flashlight
- Hold the device sideways like you would an ax (like Olaf, for those of us who play League of Legends), then chop downward twice. For some people, it might work better if you “chop” against your palm or act as though you are shaking somebody’s hand.
Voila. The droid flashlight should activate and be your beacon of hope in the dark! However, if the above method fails you, try this next one:
Turn Flashlight On From Quick Settings
- Swipe down the top bar at the top of the screen with two fingers.
- Tap “Flashlight” to toggle it on or off.
This method should be listed first, right? However, it is good to know some tricks about your Android phone. In any case, some users have said that neither options work. My only thinking is that perhaps these users have a different phone such as the Droid Turbo 2 or Droid Turbo 3.
Use Google Now/Voice
If you have the Google Voice command app (OK Google) on your Android smartphone, as seen in the above image, you can simply say or type flashlight on via the app’s interface to activate your flashlight.
Your last option would be to use an app. There are many applications on the Google Play Store to turn the flashlight on. We won’t go making a big list in this article. But we will point you in the right direction! Here’s the link to all these apps in the Play Store, click me!
